When I was 12, I lived with my grandparents in the countryside. we lived in a small town called Ambar. I have some fond memories of this place. For example, I remember my first-day fishing.
One day my uncles and I went to fish in a river near our house.
When we got to the river, my uncle Carlos gave me a fishing rod and said: “Javier, try to catch something.”
I had never seen a fishing rod before I went to Ambar. That was my first experience fishing.
I was fishing for 30 minutes when my uncle asked me: “did you catch something?”.
I said: “No, I didn’t catch anything”.
“Don’t give up, keep trying”, said my uncle.
I saw that my uncles fished a lot of trout. It was incredible.
I had no luck on my first-day fishing.
I had been fishing for over an hour before I gave up.
But it was a beautiful experience. I enjoyed the beautiful landscapes. I had a lot of fun with my uncles. And most important, that day we ate fried trout with rice for dinner.
